Approximately every 12 months native bees can be naturally split in half to create two colonies. Having more than one hive creates backup and redundancy in you native bee apiary.

1x Travel to your hive location. Areas serviced are below.

If you are new to stingless Australian native bees it is recommended to split at least once. Having 2 hive as a backup is a good idea.

Note splitting or not splitting a hive both come with risk

1. If you don’t split and the hive fails for some reason you could have 0 hives.
2. If you split you could end up with 2 hives. 1 hive if 1 fails. Or very worst 0 hives if both fail. 2 failures is very unlikely but can still happen.
100% success is not guaranteed. We do take every precaution we can but nature does sometimes have other plans out of our control.
